At this point in my life I consider the library to be one of the few things for which I receive a return on investment (ROI) on my taxes. I’m a loyal library customer and have always found the staff to be terrific and the building itself to be a respite from the cares of daily life. So much effort is shown to be inclusive and welcoming, from the hordes of kids attending , frequent Sunday concerts, librarians’ reading suggestions, lending of other materials than books, — the list is long.

The 2024 fair and exhibition season in Michigan is just around the corner, with plans being made for the “best week of the summer” in many areas. People who are responsible for planning these events are busy preparing, engaging and finalizing details so that their event is a success. County fairs and livestock exhibitions involve many people working together so that the youth exhibiting and public attending the event have an enjoyable and safe experience.
