When it was announced that a spin-off series of Death in Paradise – the BBC’s much-mocked, but massively popular 15-season comedy crime series – was going to take Kris Marshall’s DI Humphrey Goodman from the blue seas of the Caribbean and plant him in Shipton Abbott in Devon, fans weren’t sure it could be pulled off. After all, the whole point of Death in Paradise, which is still ongoing, is that the murders take place on sunny Saint Marie, a fictional island in the tropics.

Netflix has given Wednesday fans exactly five seconds of footage to whet appetites for the upcoming series two - and, needless to say, devotees are hungry for more. A teaser trailer released on Thursday (could they not have released it on a Wednesday?) shows Jenna Ortega back in the titular role. The actress returns after starring in the similarly spooky Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and picks up as Wednesday Addams, with series one having aired in November 2022.
