    What is already known? Micronutrient deficiencies are common after bariatric surgery. The half-life of thiamine in the body is short, and deficiency could quickly result in clinical symptoms. What does this study add? The prevalence of thiamine deficiency was 32.2%, which was higher than would be expected in people who have not received bariatric surgery. There was no difference in deficiency prevalence across participant demographics.
