DiscussionTo our knowledge, this is the first study to assess clustering of trajectories of multidimensional aspects of poverty from 9 months to 9 years and their association with child and mother outcomes using a large prospective representative Irish sample. We show that children who experience some trajectory of poverty have higher odds of being overweight, of having a longstanding illness and of having higher psychopathology scores by age 9 years.
