Waterloo, IA (KWWL)-- The month of May is Vascular Birthmark Awareness Month. It's a topic close to the heart of KWWL's Elizabeth Klinge because her own daughter has a type of vascular birthmark commonly called a Port Wine Stain. While these birthmarks are rare, her daughter is not alone in Iowa, and they have found strength in a 'birthmark bond' with girls from Vinton and Hudson who also have Port Wine Stains.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL)-- The Cedar Rapids School Board approved a revised bond referendum Monday night to go on the November ballot for voters. The revised bond is $117 million dollars, a significant reduction from the $220 million dollar bond request that failed to pass in 2023. The plan would pay for renovations at Kennedy High School and three middle schools. The district says the plan would cost the average Cedar Rapids homeowner $7.47 per month.

Please take it slow out there…and give those plows some room! 😳❄️

The Iowa DOT and local maintenance teams are dedicated to keeping our roads safe. During light snow and low visibility, it’s important for everyone to help out. Please avoid driving on the roads so that snow plows can work efficiently. Your cooperation makes a difference! https://t.co/DjWYNKHVn0
