2 May 2024 – The latest insights briefing from the Energy Transitions Commission, Overcoming Turbulence in the Offshore Wind Sector, highlights the need for governments and the offshore wind industry to join forces to restore confidence in the market, drive down costs and accelerate the clean energy transition. The ETC’s membership includes offshore wind industry players: bp, Iberdrola, Octopus Energy, Petronas, Shell, SSE, and Vattenfall.

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Mark Joseph Laabs, a member of our community, on February 20th 2024. Mark joined the Energy Transitions Commission as one of the first Commissioners when the coalition was established in 2016. The same year he co-founded Modern Energy. Mark was a respected expert and champion of the energy transition. He was an active ETC member for over five years.

30 November 2023 – COP28 provides a milestone moment to take stock of the progress achieved since the COP21 Paris Agreement. Time is running out to meet the targets agreed and immediate action is now required if the world is to have a chance of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. The need for urgent action has been highlighted by the ETC, a global coalition of leaders from across the energy landscape committed to achieving net-zero emissions by mid-century.
