    COLUMBIA, S.C. — The University of South Carolina (USC) retired the No. 22 jersey of former Gamecock women’s basketball star A’ja Wilson. University leaders hosted the event in a pregame ceremony just before the noon tip-off against Auburn at Colonial Life Arena on Sunday. Wilson led the Gamecocks to their first NCAA National Championship in 2017. She holds 22 program records, including all-time leading scorer with 2,389 points.

    COLUMBIA, S.C. - University of South Carolina football will play Illinois in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, on Dec. 31 at 3 p.m. ET. The Gamecocks are No. 14 and the Fighting Illini are No. 21 in the polls. Both teams finished the regular season 9-3 overall. If South Carolina wins this year's Citrus Bowl, it will become the fifth team in program history to win 10 games.
