The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office has found a missing female and an investigation surrounding her disappearance continues. Sheriff Jonathon Horton said 16-year-pld Sara Dena Steele was located safe early Friday morning. “The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank everyone for all of the information and tips that came in,” Horton said in a release posted on Facebook Friday. “This is still an active investigation involving several local and federal agencies.

An Albertville man faces charges of illegal possession of child pornography. Assistant Albertville Police Chief John Amos said an APD Detective assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cyber tip from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. During an investigation, William Allen Michael was developed as a suspect in the case. He was interviewed and surrendered his cell phone for a forensic download.

An online video threat aimed at Asbury School Thursday led to heightened awareness and one teen being charged with making a terroristic threat. Marshall County Sheriff Phil Sims said school resource officers were made aware of a potential threat related to the school early Thursday. Deputies arrested George Nsheiwat, 18, charging him with second-degree making a terrorist threat. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he posted a $6,000 bond and was released.
