Daily business travel rates for hotel, taxi transportation and meals in European gateway cities remained relatively flat from the last quarter of 2024 into the first quarter of 2025, rising just over 1 percent considering the spend categories as a whole. Hotel rates for most cities were flat to down around 3 percent, but there were a few standouts both in terms of slightly steeper rate decreases in Q1 and increases.

Meetings French hospitality giant Accor announced this week it isbuilding its own meetings and event ecosystem to support sourcing and bookingactivities. The company said the new platform aims to unite more than 5,600Accor hotels around the world and will host an inventory of 2.5 million square metersof event space as well as more than 800,000 guest rooms.

The company said the new hires were on pace to nearly double its workforce as the company has experienced 400 percent growth year over year.
