Organizers with Wheels in Motion say they had a successful car show extravaganza in Taylor on Saturday. CBS News Detroit spoke with Michigan State Police Detective Devin Kachar, who, three years ago, was shot multiple times and paralyzed while doing undercover surveillance in Detroit. "You can basically let it control you or get out and do what you can to control it and still get back into doing the things you love," Kachar said. He said making modifications to vehicles makes that possible.

Metro Detroit is home to a bike trail that spans the state of Michigan. In Wixom, a portion of the trail is decorated with colorful bikes. "The painted bikes originated about six years ago as a way to promote the Michigan Airline Trail that runs through our downtown," said Laura Cloutier, the director of the Wixom Downtown Development Authority. The trail used to be an old railway bed that was converted over the last 10 years into the well-loved bike path it is today.

People in Livingston County, Michigan, will have a new place to play one of the fastest-growing sports in late summer or early fall this year. New pickleball courts will be built at Fred Brown Park in Marion Township. Township Clerk Tammy Beal started the project after a donation from a resident last fall. "He said, 'What do you suggest?' And I said, 'We get a lot of questions about pickleball,'" said Beal.
