They will join the 195,000 currently uninsured state residents and Connecticut’s uninsured numbers will rise to the highest level in 20 years. Healthcare prices keep rising, the quality of care is just average, and everyone has an opinion. Expectations are high and options are few. It’s a difficult job and Dr. Gifford does it well. She will be hard to replace.

    CT News Junkie reports that St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center has reached a settlement with Hartford HealthCare in their lawsuit alleging unfair business practices. The court documents do not describe the terms of the “mutually acceptable resolution.”It’s good that St. Francis’s complaints as a competitor have been addressed, but the concerns of consumers and payers are still outstanding in two class action lawsuits against Hartford HealthCare.
