We, together with many in the nursing community, look with fear and dismay at the reactionary forces that seek to hinder free research. For almost 15 years, our research group has been working in the tradition of emancipatory nursing (Kagan et al. 2010) by applying a norm-critical approach in research and education to address healthcare inequity (Castillo et al. 2024; Tengelin et al. 2020).
