Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021, although it has been observed since the Emancipation Proclamation. The event at Carson Park is sponsored by the nonprofit Uniting Bridges and features food, drinks, music and more.

The answer is the City of Eau Claire’s new pollinator project. As 18 News has reported, 93 acres of city grass will be transformed into pollinator-friendly landscape. The areas of dead grass have been sprayed with herbicide.
