Today’s subject Gregory Perri is currently living his theatre life onstage at Round House Theatre as one half of the two member cast of King James. The production runs through June 22nd. This is not Gregory’s first association playing his character of Matt. He previously understudied the role off-Broadway at MTC and just played the role at TheaterWorks Hartford. The last time he performed in DC was at Arena Stage in Good People which he also understudied for on Broadway at MTC.

Today’s subject Jade Jones is a powerhouse performer who is currently living their theatre life onstage at Arena Stage in the World Premiere play We Are Gathered. The show runs through June 15th in Arena’s Fichandler Stage space. Jade was most recently seen as Madame Thénardier in Les Misérables at The Muny in St. Louis. Today’s subject Carlos Acosta is currently living his theatre Life as the Artistic Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet. He has been in the position since January of 2020. Carlos’ choreographic brilliance can be seen at the Kennedy Center in the Opera House from June 4th to the 8th when Birmingham Royal Ballet presents Black Sabbath- The Ballet. Carlos was born in Havana in 1973 and trained at the Cuban National Ballet School in the city.

Today’s subject Marika Countouris is currently living her theatre life onstage at Signature Theatre as Musical Director/Keyboardist for Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The show runs through June 22nd in the ARK. Hedwig is not the first time Marika’s musical talents have graced the stages of Signature’s spaces. Previously she assistant musical directed and conducted Private Jones and was the musical director for Passing Strange.

Today’s subject Francesca Zambello is currently living her theatre life as the Artistic Director of Washington National Opera (WNO). She has been in the position since 2012. Her production of Porgy and Bess begins performances this evening in the Opera House at Kennedy Center where it will play through May 31st. Francesca is responsible for many of WNO’s most memorable stagings.
