Shannon Kyle told BBC Newsnight the MasterChef presenter answered the door wearing only a towel, which he later dropped, made “revolting” and “sickening” sexualised suggestions to her, and touched her inappropriately. Kyle, who was 35 at the time, was writing Wallace’s memoir Life On A Plate.

A “vaping community” is emerging among young people in Liverpool with the product's “tempting flavours” being criticised by the city’s Director of Public Health. According to Professor Matt Ashton, who oversees public health in Liverpool, one in seven young people now claim to vape regularly. The figures, based on council data, show the current levels are seven times higher than in 2017. It is illegal to sell vapes or vaping products to people under the age of 18.

The removal of a well known public artwork which hundreds of people passed everyday has divided opinion. A sculpture of a house made of glass known as ‘The Outhouse’ was installed on a grass verge beside Menlove Avenue in Woolton in the south of the city in 2005. It is situated by four 1960s tower blocks on Vale Road with hundreds of people passing the artwork every day via the road or a path which runs through the wooded area.

A public art installation situated beside a major Liverpool road has been taken down and will not return. The glass house sculpture known as ‘The Outhouse’ was installed on a grass verge beside Menlove Avenue in Woolton in 2005. It is situated close to four 1960s tower blocks on Vale Road, with thousands of people passing the artwork every day. The Outhouse was commissioned as an art installation by Liverpool Housing Action Trust in partnership with the Guinness Trust.
P&O Ferries to axe Liverpool to Dublin route

P&O Ferries has announced its intention to axe its Liverpool to Dublin route. The ferry provider said its planned closure of the route is set to come towards the end of 2023. P&O Ferries claims that the berth, managed by Peel Ports, is no longer available to the company and negotiations to extend its current lease or find an alternative have been unsuccessful. The two ferries currently serving the Liverpool-Dublin route will be redeployed elsewhere on P&O Ferries network, the company has said.

More than 100 flats could be built on the site for a former nightclub and cinema. A plot of land in Tuebrook, on the corner of West Derby Road and Green Lane, is the subject of a proposed residential development comprising 119 units. The mixed use development, named ‘Carlton Court’, could take shape across a building of part five and six storeys. The site on the corner of the busy arterial route running through the east of Liverpool was once home to the Carlton Theatre and Cinema.
