It was a heart-stopping scene in Louisville, Kentucky. The cab of a crashed tractor-trailer precariously dangled from an overpass on I-65 — with the driver inside. He can be heard pleading for help in an emotional 911 call from Sunday morning. “I’m just hanging over the bridge, I don’t want to die,” the driver said. He asked the operator to stay on the line. “If I don’t survive, can you just leave the recording to my family?” the driver asked.

Looking through binoculars, program manager Sarah Callan scanned the shoreline for a growing problem on Block Island, Rhode Island — entangled seals. When fishing gear, garbage or a balloon gets wrapped around a gray seal’s neck, it tightens as the marine mammal — which can exceed 800 pounds — grows and can lead to significant injury or death.

Three American women who were discovered dead in a Belize resort hotel room last month died from carbon monoxide poisoning, their families said. A joint statement this week from their families cites the U.S. Embassy in Belize and says the women died from "acute carbon monoxide poisoning, likely caused by a faulty instant water heater."Wafae El Arar, 26; Imane Mallah, 24; and Kaoutar Naqqad, 23, were found dead in their San Pedro hotel room Feb. 22, officials said. More measles cases have been reported in the first three months of 2025 than in all of 2024. Most of the 420-plus cases have been centered around the West Texas outbreak, which has spilled over to neighboring New Mexico and Oklahoma. Other cases in people returning from travel abroad have been reported in a handful of states.
