Even with the sunshine, today’s highs are only going to be in the upper 30s. There are parades this weekend and the weather looks great! (WGHP) — Clear skies have allowed temperatures to plunge into the teens, and there may be some leftover icy patches on area roads this morning. Cold, windy conditions are expected today, despite mostly sunny skies. Highs are going to rise to the mid-40s, but wind chills will stay in the 30s all day. A High Wind Warning goes into effect at 7 p.m. tonight for Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Grayson (VA), and Watauga counties, and will stay in effect until 4 p.m. Thursday.

From the late morning onward, skies will stay mostly cloudy though there will be rapid clearing as the evening drive gets underway. Highs will rise into the lower-60’s early in the afternoon. PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Get ready for cold, windy weather today and tomorrow!Temperatures are starting in the lower-to-mid-30s this morning with light winds. As the day progresses, temperatures will warm up to around 53°, but winds will make it feel like the 40’s. Winds are expected to increase this afternoon, with sustained winds between 15 and 20 mph, and wind gusts approaching 30 mph.
