2024 priorities include nursing workforce protections, access to nursing care, and payment parity. The end of the first session of the 118th Congress was notable, to say the least. For starters Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was removed and a relatively unknown lawmaker, Mike Johnson (R-LA), was elected to the role following a tumultuous 3 weeks of nominations, votes for, and withdrawals of other candidates.
