    The Wartburg Choir will perform with the Nebraska Wesleyan University Choir and Gold Standard Singers during a special concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, in the Wartburg Chapel. The free concert is part of the Nebraska Wesleyan University 2025 Choir Tour. The NWU choir is led by Tom Trenney, a featured performer and conductor who served at Wartburg while Lee Nelson, the Wartburg Choir conductor, was on sabbatical in the fall of 2018.

    Taylor Runchey, a senior from Ankeny, will deliver the student address at the Wartburg College December Commencement on Sunday, Dec. 15. Wartburg President Rebecca Ehretsman and the Senior Leadership Team chose Runchey, an elementary education major, to give remarks on behalf of the Class of 2024 at the ceremony beginning at 10:30 a.m. in Neumann Auditorium. The ceremony will be livestreamed at www.wartburg.edu/commencement. Runchey is a Regents Scholar and will graduate summa cum laude.

    Wartburg College will launch two new online graduate programs in health and human performance — a Master of Science in sport science and data analytics and a Master of Science in high performance — beginning fall 2025. The programs, which build on the college’s reputation for excellence in undergraduate health sciences programs and athletic dominance, will produce students ready to lead and serve in a variety of athletic and nonathletic venues.

    The Wartburg-Waverly Festival of Trees will brighten the halls of the Wartburg College Classroom Technology Center Dec. 2 through Dec. 10. The festival attracts thousands of guests, including those visiting the community for events such as Christmas with Wartburg.
