Rejection happens all the time. Sometimes it’s small, like when you ask for a favor and get a no, or when a crush doesn’t feel the same. Other times, it cuts deeper, like getting rejected by a job or school you really cared about. I’ve always known that you don’t always get what you want. But rejection is the moment that reminds you of that, again and again. The most recent one that really hit me was getting rejected by an internship that I really wanted, in the final round.

AbstractPre-eclampsia is a placental disorder that affects 3–5% of all pregnancies and is a leading cause of maternal and fetal morbidity worldwide1,2. With no drug available to slow disease progression, engineering ionizable lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for extrahepatic messenger RNA (mRNA) delivery to the placenta is an attractive therapeutic option for pre-eclampsia.
