FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Champagne was swilled and spilled, cigars were smoked and the Stanley Cup was hoisted a few more times, all with about 400,000 people watching. The Florida Panthers are getting pretty good at these parades. The back-to-back Stanley Cup champions had their championship parade and rally on Fort Lauderdale Beach on Sunday, the same setup as last year -- except this time, bright sunshine greeted the champs as opposed to downpours and lightning a year ago.

The Rangers and Ducks are working on a trade to send Chris Kreider to Anaheim, sources confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday. The deal is in advanced stages and involves the Rangers receiving a prospect and a draft pick, sources said, while the Ducks would take on the final two years of Kreider's contract, which pays him $6.5 million annually. That would create cap flexibility for the Rangers heading into free agency on July 1.

Very appreciative of Matthew Tkachuk for taking the time to chat yesterday. Loved his answer on Florida’s reputation for baiting opponents. And how he thinks we should view @FlaPanthers legacy if they go back to back. https://t.co/sLkiniuk2V

There’s a good chance Chris Kreider gets dealt from the Rangers to Ducks today, as @frank_seravalli first reported. Framework includes Anaheim taking on Kreider’s full salary, no retention. The Ducks are currently on Kreider’s 15-team no trade list, so he has to waive.

Friday night in Edmonton is going to be a scene. Here’s why the Panthers remain confident in a hostile environment… but they’ll have to deal with a Connor McDavid who is literally doing it all for the Oilers. https://t.co/ZcyAePQzpm
