Texas companies reported rising service sector revenue and a resumption of production growth in the manufacturing sector after weakness in 2023 and much of 2024, according to the Dallas Fed’s Texas Business Outlook Surveys (TBOS). Additionally, expected changes in the tax and regulatory environment following the election have boosted company outlooks. Texas businesses also raised their expectations for wage and price increases in 2025.

The rate of wage growth exceeded 5 percent in 2022 amid a rapid recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and extremely tight labor market conditions. Wage growth seems to be cooling this year but remains well above the 3 percent pace of 2019.
