    North Alabama is expected to get a frigid mix of snow and ice this weekend. Wintery precipitation will move from north Texas to the Carolinas, bringing light snowfall starting Thursday night and by sunrise on Friday. Areas north of the Tennessee River around the Alabama/Tennessee border are expected to receive a few inches of snow and totals dropping further south. Parts of Jackson County could see 3 to 6 inches of snow by noon on Friday, according to WAFF’s First 48 Weather Alert.

Founded in 1701, Yale is the third-oldest and most selective institution of higher education in the US, and one of the nine colonial colleges chartered before the American Revolution.
