Looking back on her now-eleven-album oeuvre, you get the impression that three bad things have happened to Taylor Swift in her life. She had a feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. She has had a series of romantic heartbreaks. And she has gotten too famous. The problem with the whole “women won’t marry lower status men” narrative is that, increasingly, American women are doing exactly that. My latest for @TheAtlantic, on the rise of women who are "marrying down." https://t.co/yJbIbeQGIJ

Was thrilled to get a @washingreview shoutout for my piece about "boring" characters!
