    Moving from Cairo, Egypt, to Halifax to study in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Computer Science was a big adjustment for Seif Elbayomi (BCS’24). Not only was the weather (a lot) colder, but culturally and academically, he had a lot to learn. Thankfully, learning is something Elbayomi is very good at. Now he’s graduating with a Bachelor of Computer Science (Co-operative Education).

    Dr. Rita Orji, a professor and a Canada Research Chair in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Computer Science, has been awarded the Arthur B. McDonald Fellowship from the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). The fellowship recognizes Dr. Orji’s groundbreaking work in novel personalized and adaptive digital interventions powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning and is accompanied by a research grant of $250,000 over the next two years.
