Our next weathermaker is a cold front pushing through Wisconsin through Tuesday. Near and behind this boundary, we’re expecting showers and thunderstorms. There’s a risk of strong to marginally severe thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon. High winds would be the main threat, but hail and heavy rain would also be possible. Tuesday is now a FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY, so keep informed…Through early Wednesday, soaking rainfall totals exceeding an inch will be possible.

Sunday looks like a June gem for the first day of the new month. It’s going to be a comfortable day, with afternoon highs in the 70s. Lakeside temperatures will be slightly cooler, with highs in the upper-half of the 60s. While we’ll see an encore performance of sunshine, it might look a little hazy. That’s because more Canadian wildfire smoke will be floating aloft in our atmosphere. Thankfully, the smoke should be high enough in the sky to not have an impact on our air quality.

Highs Sunday and Monday will be in the 50s near Lake Michigan with milder 60s and lower 70s inland. I think a few spotty showers or sprinkles could develop again on Sunday but most spots should remain dry. We all have a pretty nice Memorial Day on tap with lots of sunshine and friendly clouds. There shouldn’t be any weather issues for all of the local parades and ceremonies taking place.

Patchy frost is possible well north and west of the Fox Valley early this morning. Gardeners might want to play it safe and keep sensitive plants covered. There’s a higher chance of frost across the Northwoods Saturday night. Fair skies and calm air will bring widespread lows in the 30s heading into sunrise Sunday. Gardeners, you know the drill…We should begin Saturday mostly sunny, but more clouds will develop for the afternoon.

Sunday will bring another mix of sun and clouds. Hope for the best in terms of sunshine and/or clearing. Highs will be seasonably cool in the 50s and 60s. Conditions look pretty good for the EPIC Marathon in Green Bay Sunday morning. Below average temperatures are likely for most if not all of next week. Some locations across the Northwoods may have another frost or freeze early Monday morning with lows well down into the lower 30s.
