A cool front has pushed through, leaving us with slightly cooler temperatures for our Saturday. The Mother’s Day Weekend looks nice! Under mostly sunny skies, Saturday looks a little cooler and breezy with northeast gusts to 25 mph. Highs will be in the mid 60s, but that’s typical for the middle of May. Then, as south winds pick up, Sunday looks warmer. The weekend will end with inland highs in the mid 70s. The dry air will continue to cause issues with wildfire danger.

Clouds will start off our Saturday, but will gradually clear through the afternoon. By the end of the day, we’ll be mostly sunny. On Sunday, clouds will gradually return to northeast Wisconsin. A system hangs out over the Ohio Valley through the weekend. Because of that, a few light showers may drift back across Lake Michigan and into eastern Wisconsin Sunday night and into Monday. A “buckle” in the jet stream will finally sweep away this persistent storm during the middle of next week.

Thanks to high pressure, sunshine returns on Saturday after a little morning cloudiness departs. Day #3 at the NFL Draft will be seasonable and pleasant, with highs in the middle to upper 50s. Winds could be a bit brisk early but should diminish during the afternoon. While Sunday looks a little warmer with highs near 60 degrees, we’ll see more clouds. We can’t rule out a passing shower Sunday evening.

We start out our Sunday with some areas of sunshine before clouds move in, and then the rain. Showers move into the region starting later this afternoon, becoming widespread around dinnertime. Areas of rain & thunder continue Sunday night into Monday morning. Some showers may even linger into Monday afternoon. Total rainfall through Monday will be in the 1/2″ to 1″+ range. Easterly winds will become more noticeable by late Sunday, and northwesterly winds on Monday will remain brisk.

Saturday will be dry with decreasing clouds. But, the clouds will increase and thicken for Easter Sunday. The weather looks dry for morning egg hunts and church services. However, look for another round of showers to arrive for the late afternoon and evening. This steady, soaking rain will be widespread overnight and into Monday. Wind gusts upwards of 30 mph are also expected Monday. Highs will be coolest Monday afternoon... with upper 40s expected. Temperatures will rebound for the mid-week.
