1 Introduction There are approximately 55 million people living with dementia worldwide [1]. Current estimates suggest there are 944,000 people diagnosed with dementia in the United Kingdom, and this number is expected to continue rising [2]. Dementia is progressive, impacts cognition and leads to deterioration in functional abilities and often to behavioural disturbance [3].
