Fall River received a $25,000 grant through Bloomberg Philanthropies and Asphalt Art. The city planned two street mural locations at some of its busiest intersections to calm traffic, both of which Bloomberg rejected. The system remains down and will likely remain down for the rest of the week. Superintendent Tracy Curley said the district does not have insurance to mitigate the fallout, and that the cost of data recovery will be paid out of pocket.

Former Fall River police chief Paul Gauvin was the subject of an investigation into accusations of policy violations. The investigation detailed incidents of improper firearm storage, and accusations he left a threatening message for the current chief. He left the position in September 2024 amid a no-confidence vote from the unions. Gauvin, who was demoted from chief to captain, has since been fired.
