Ramsey Commissioners is launching a campaign to encourage people to pick up dog poo. Vice-Chair Sandra Cottam-Shea is urging people who see dog owners leaving mess to 'educate' those responsible and says a 'culture change' will be needed. The local authority will be spending just over £1,000 on posters and signs, as well as hiring a new town warden to help combat the issue. Mrs Cottam-Shea says the commissioners will not be reintroducing the dog specific bins to the town.

Ramsey Commissioners will be holding a by-election next month to fill a vacant seat in its South Ward. Three people have stepped forward to join the board; Gillian Corlett, Christopher Martin and John Powell. One seat was left empty after a series of Local Authority Elections in April. Residents in the South Ward will be able to vote from 8am until 8pm on Thursday 17 July at the town hall. More information can be found on the commissioner's website.

A by-election will be held next month to fill two vacant seats on the board of Port Erin Commissioners. There are three people standing; James Cubbon, Karl Drinkwater and Fenella Gray. One seat was free following April's elections and the second became available following the resignation of Marc Morely in May. Residents will be able to vote on Thursday 17 July.
