Just a few weeks ago it was the fourth cheapest retailer for a basket of essentialsA supermarket that vowed to 'take on' Aldi is now one the most expensive in our weekly price comparison. It was only earlier this month when Sainsbury's was working out fourth cheapest behind Asda, Aldi and Lidl for a basket of eight key grocery essentials including bread and milk.

If there's one thing shoppers love about Yorkshire it's the tea. With its strong, satisfying flavour, diehard fans of the much-loved tea bags refuse to swap to cheaper brands. But while I love a strong cuppa, it's another product from over the Pennines that's left me considering my supermarket choices. We tried a selection of the fresh puddings, which can be found in the fridge section, to see how they fare. The range includes larger sharing desserts, like a New York Cheesecake and Passion Fruit and Raspberry Cheesecake, £3.49, and smaller individual puddings that come in packs of two.
