Nearly 40 years ago, Vic Akers had just been given the role of Arsenal’s community officer. From football tournaments to indoor bowls, the team provided everything you can imagine to keep local people involved and give back to the community. That was before a group of young women came to the community sessions, asking for a women's team to be set up. Having sourced a local women's team to merge with and with Islington Council's backing, the rest is history.

Who in the current squad would make the best manager in future and why? Girls like Beth, Wally, Kim - they're doing their UEFA A Licence and I can imagine them all being coaches. I think, in terms of the way that the game is played, I love the way that Mariona sees football, so I think she would be a good coach. You always have certain people who, whenever they speak, you agree with them. Iām not sure there's been a time when Iāve disagreed with anything sheās said about football.
