To close the evening, White House Correspondents Association President Eugene Daniels delivered this, like, fire-and-brimstone lecture, declaring the organization “an example of American exceptionalism” and admonishing anyone who doesn’t submit to that claim. This was the moment my realizations came into focus.

However, unfortunately for that narrative, the politics editor at Breitbart News (me) happens to have grown up in the same neighborhood Harris lived in from when she was 12 to 18 and can report that calling herself “middle class” is definitely a stretch. The ballad, “Hero,” was released Friday, along with a video, showing the first-daughter-in-law and Republican National Committee co-chair playing piano, interspersed between footage of firemen running into burning buildings, and stills of fallen officers. The song was produced by LJ Fino, president of First Class Label Group, and is a duet with artist Madeline Jaymes, who told Breitbart News she wanted to work with Trump because she “understands the message” Jaymes wants to share.
