    Scotland’s Gleneagles Hotel is so much more than a golf resort. It is a 340ha country estate set beneath the stunning Ochil Hills, just an hour from either Glasgow or Edinburgh. Gleneagles has a rich history, dating back to 1913 when Donald Matheson, general manager of the Caledonian Railway Company, was inspired by the surrounding dramatic scenery and sought to create a palatial country house hotel and golf course.
