FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a huge blaze that has caused extensive damage at a historic site in Co Donegal this evening. Pictures of the horror scene reveal smoke billowing over Doagh Famine Village on the Isle of Doagh in Inishowen as a fire rips through the popular tourist attraction. Emergency services raced to tackle the blaze at the iconic tourist attraction this afternoon. Many of the historic thatched cottages have tragically been gutted.

IRISH tourists have been treated to a number of new routes this year - and another one is set to take to the skies tomorrow. Aer Lingus has announced that yet another transatlantic route will be added to the roster. The airline will now fly direct to Indianapolis in Indiana. This is Europe's first direct flight to the US state. It will run four times weekly, and fares start from just €249. The first flight will take off tomorrow, Saturday May 3.
