The study evaluated clinical reviews data for every GLP-1RA drug trial reported to the US Food and Drug Administration to track the number of pregnancies occurring during clinical development programs.

Apixaban is associated with a significantly lower risk of recurrent VTE and major bleeding compared with rivaroxaban or warfarin, a study of more than 160,000 patients suggests. The results of the multi-cohort study of US patients who had VTE between 2016 and 2024 support the use of oral anticoagulants as a primary treatment to prevent the recurrence of clots and suggests that apixaban is the safest and most effective choice for most individuals, the researchers said.

Young adolescents whose mothers had cancer during pregnancy have similar outcomes in cardiac, neurocognitive and physical development compared with children the same age, reassuring longitudinal data indicate. The study tracking health outcomes of 166 children aged 12-15 years, did suggest a trend towards lower verbal memory and attention in the group, but these were primarily associated with premature birth and maternal death, the researchers say.
