Salt-N-Pepa, the first female hip-hop group to win a Grammy, has sued Universal Music Group for the rights to the master recordings of its earliest music, including the 1980s hit "Push It."In a 166-page lawsuit, Salt-N-Pepa, whose real names are Cheryl James and Sandra Denton, accused Universal of violating federal copyright law by not surrendering its ownership of the master recordings - the original copies of music from which all other recordings are made - after 35 years.
