While I've always been a rear-wheel drive aficionado, I can appreciate the front-wheel drive mindset. After all, a bit of torque steer never hurt anybody and when it's packaged up in a little pocket rocket of a Mini Cooper, I'm game to have some fun. However, I'm not satisfied with just any Mini. No, I want the angry John Cooper Works Mini. New for 2025, the two-door hardtop and convertible fit right in with folks who want to go fast and have fun.

Most of us in the overlanding scene want a vehicle that can get us the absolute furthest away from civilization. We want lockers, beefy tires, a 40-degree approach angle, and if it doesn’t run on diesel, then forget it. For the rest of the population, there are the soft roaders. These all-wheel-drive SUVs won’t tackle Devil’s Hot Tub in Moab or survive a muddy mess in the wilds of Australia, but they can certainly get people out to their lake house, up to the slopes, or across the sandy beach.

Oh Nissan...you're in so much trouble these days. You've had dwindling sales, an ill-fated opportunity to merge with Honda, and it seems like nobody gives you the respect you deserve. It had been a while since I'd been in a Pro-4x trim of a truck or SUV, and honestly had written off the off-road trim as lesser-than. Why look at the Frontier Pro-4X when the Ford Ranger FX4 exists? And the Armada Pro-4X? Oh come on...just buy a Toyota Sequoia, people. AdvertisementExcept, maybe not.

Why didn’t they call it the Escaladiq???

Cadillac’s new IQ portfolio of all-electric vehicles — notably the compact Optiq SUV and grandaddy full-size Escalade IQ — has put the company on a techier, more advanced, and luxurious plane. Read about the new EVs from @yeah_emme here: https://t.co/K9oyUAVAoK https://t.co/PGUg9FKtf9

Charging station growing pains

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is as good as ever, but doesn’t play well with Tesla Superchargers at the moment. Read more from @yeah_emme here: https://t.co/t31dQwI3lo https://t.co/c62Z1kvzNB

Pretty stoked on this one.
