    As we head towards the middle of the academic year, this seemed the perfect time for this topic. We all hear about the dreaded ‘second-year blues’, but I have to say from my experience I prefer the phrase ‘second-year slump’. Like every other nursing student, in the second-year blues I was expecting all the feelings of being ‘blue’; a bit of sadness, maybe some apathy or lack of interest. But for me, it was not that; it was more a second-year slump.
