MethodsIn this work, the effects of non-directional measurement error on childhood anthropometric prevalence indicators are evaluated through their consequence of inflating the z-score distribution’s standard deviation value. To this end, a Monte Carlo simulation exercise was performed to test the relationship between a normal distribution’s standard deviation and the rate of observations falling below a threshold value (in the case of childhood anthropometry, -2.0).
