The following is a sampling of calls to Barre City police in recent days:A vehicle struck a utility pole at Currier Park. Injuries were reported. On North Main Street, an encampment was reported. A lost German shepherd was reported on Tremont Street. Drug activity was reported on Blackwell Street. An assault was reported on North Main Street. Drug activity was reported at Highgate Apartments. Property was found on Route 62. A person was yelling at cars on West Street.

PLAINFIELD — Officials on all sides agree better communication is needed after the outcome of a crash, where a town worker was seriously injured, left town officials unimpressed. Following the flooding seen last July, a town worker was fixing up East Hill Road in a backhoe when the piece of town equipment was struck by a vehicle driven by Bryant Hallock.

BARRE — A Middlesex man is accused of firing off a gun in a home with multiple children inside. Mitchell R. McAllister, 34, pleaded not guilty Monday in Washington County criminal court in Barre to a misdemeanor count of reckless endangerment. If convicted, McAllister could face a maximum sentence of a year in prison. He was released on conditions. Trooper Skylar Velasquez, of the Vermont State Police, said in his affidavit a 911 hang up was reported June 3 on Sunny Brook Road in Middlesex.

NORTHFIELD — Those at Northfield High School sent 39 students out into the world following Saturday's graduation ceremony. The ceremony was held at Norwich University. Principal Lee Ann Monroe said she usually starts processing what she wants to say at graduation around mid-May. Monroe said she tries to put together six years of experiences with the class into a speech that's both not too long nor short. She said the speech offers a little something of what she's learned from the class.
