Sophomore pitcher Jackson Flora of the UC Santa Barbara baseball team has been invited to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp in Cary, N.C., this summer. Flora is the fourth Gaucho pitcher in three years to receive an invitation from USA Baseball. He follows Matt Ager and Hudson Barrett in 2023 and Tyler Bremner last summer. Ager and Bremner were selected to the national team roster.

The UC Santa Barbara Women’s Basketball team experienced something for the first time in over eight years on Saturday: a home loss against Cal Poly. The visiting Mustangs drew and converted an and-one inside the final five seconds to take a 51-50 lead, which would go down as the final score. Skylar Burke led the Gauchos in scoring with 11 points on the night, while Zoe Borter was Santa Barbara’s leading rebounder, hauling in a career-high nine boards on the night.

The UC Santa Barbara Baseball team announced its 2025 schedule on Tuesday. The reigning Big West Champion and 2024 NCAA Regional Host Gauchos will play a 53-game slate leading up to The Big West Championship in this, their 14th season under Head Coach Andrew Checketts. The season features eight games against teams that made the 2024 NCAA Tournament, seven of which will be played in Santa Barbara.

The 2025 UC Santa Barbara Men’s Volleyball schedule is set, head coach Rick McLaughlin announced Tuesday. The Gauchos’ 27-game slate begins with the ASICS Invitational, Jan. 9-11, and features 15 total home matches, highlighted by matchups with defending national champions UCLA and national finalists Long Beach State in the Thunderdome. Single-game tickets for all 15 of Santa Barbara’s home matches are on sale now.

The No. 14 UC Santa Barbara Men’s Water Polo team nearly mounted another second-half comeback against No. 8 Long Beach State on Friday, but it was not to be this time around and the Gauchos fell, 12-9, in the first round of The Big West Championship. Luke Bachler scored a hat-trick and added an assist to lead Santa Barbara’s attack, while Adam Gyenis added two more goals in his final game in Blue and Gold to end his career as the eighth-highest scorer in Gaucho Water Polo history (160).
