The Texas Attorney General says his office has resolved a lawsuit with a North Texas school district. Attorney General Ken Paxton says his office has resolved the lawsuit with Coppell ISD after the district took measures to make sure that critical race theory will not be taught in classrooms. Paxton sued the district in March to stop the district from teaching what he calls unlawful critical race theory.
Election workers trained on new devices ahead of Election Day

Saturday is Election Day across Texas for city and school races. Dallas County Elections Administrator Heider Garcia says his team is ready after having to go through training on new devices. Poll workers had to learn how to operate new electronic poll book devices in some locations after issues in the General Election in November. "We bought all new poll books, all new software, and we took that project on," Garcia said.

Drugs may have led to triple murder in Parker County, sheriff says

Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier is giving more information about the triple murder west of Fort Worth late last month. He says investigators believe 19-year-old Barrett Copeland and 27-year-old Trin Lawrence McKnight knew the victims. "In that community, if you're familiar with it, it's a small community," Authier said.
Woman sues Fort Worth-based American Airlines after alleged sexual assault on a flight

A San Francisco woman has sued Fort Worth-based American Airlines after an alleged sexual assault on a red-eye flight from San Francisco to Dallas in 2024. Barbara Morgan says she was assaulted on the flight but was too afraid to report it while the flight was still in the air over fear of retaliation or being blamed for a possible diversion. "You don't know how to react because you don't think it's possible," Morgan said in a news conference with her attorneys Wednesday.
Dallas County Republican Party questions price tag of School Choice Bill

The Dallas County Republican Party is questioning the price tag associated with the new 'School Choice' legislation out of Austin. The Dallas County GOP is joining other North Texas republicans critical of the measure which was one of the top priorities of Governor Greg Abbott. Tarrant County GOP Precinct Chair Hollie Plemons has been outspoken against it. "Here we are having to pay for it and this is not how a consitutional representative-form of government should be working," Plemons said.

As Texans prepare to head to the polls this weekend for municipal elections, there is a growing call to move the spring election to the fall to help increase voter turnout. Dallas County Judge Clay Lewis Jenkins says he is not sure how soon that could become reality but he believes it would likely boost the number of people voting.

Early voting wraps up Tuesday in the various state municipal elections. Dallas County Judge Clay Lewis Jenkins took advantage of early voting along with his family early this week. He wants to see higher-than-normal voter turnout when voter turnout is usually low in city-wide elections. "A lot of people skip these elections. These important, local, non-partisan elections," Lewis Jenkins said.
Work begins this week to reconfigure Southwest seating

Dallas-based Southwest Airlines was given the okay to begin reconfiguring their aircraft to meet with new marketing to customers. Crews will be moving seats around and the individual air conditioning units above each seat. Southwest CEO Bob Jordan told KRLD's David Johnson that it is rather complicated but they can do it quickly. "It's very complex but they are able to do that whole thing in one overnight," Jordan said.
