LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – There weren’t many fans, but there was plenty of purpose. Louisville City FC had a point to prove — again — and a bigger stage in sight. With two first-half goals and a dose of second-half resolve, LouCity knocked off Loudoun United for the second time this season, 2-1, to advance in the U.S. Open Cup and earn a spot in next week’s Round of 32 — when Major League Soccer clubs enter the bracket. It wasn’t just a win. It was a reminder. “That's the magic of the cup, isn't it?

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- If there's ever been a coaching job someone was born to take, Stefan LeFors just found it. The former University of Louisville quarterback was named head football coach at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. It's his first head job at the college level — but that hardly tells the whole story. Gallaudet is the world's only university where every program and service is designed to serve deaf and hard-of-hearing students. It's the birthplace of American Sign Language.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Often, an event like the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup affords teams a change of competitive scenery, a chance to face a non-league opponent or even one from a different level of American soccer. And then there's the 2025 Open Cup opener for LouCity FC, which will feature a visit from USL East leader Loudoun United FC to Lynn Family Stadium Tuesday night at 7 in a third-round matchup. The pairing brings together two of the USL Championship’s top clubs.

The Washington Mystics selected Kentucky point guard Georgia Amoore with the No. 6 overall pick, making her the highest-drafted Australian since Liz Cambage went No. 2 in 2011.

Here's what Pat Kelsey had to say today about how he'll spend his offseason -- and his thought on next year's roster. I am finishing a story on that roster (though not yet complete -- the story or the roster) and will post soon https://t.co/kO1OMitCfR https://t.co/mhRZfts7nX

Kelsey's buyout is 95% of his guaranteed compensation for the next two years, then goes to 55 percent, then 50 percent the last two years of the deal. That would be about $3.1 million, going down to 1.8 million, to 1.65. That's if his base salary stayed where it is (likely won't)
