Overview of T+1 On February 9th, 2022, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed to shorten the current two-day trade settlement cycle (T+2) to a one-day trade settlement cycle (T+1). The proposed change will come into effect in the United States on May 28th, 2024. The DTCC and key industry participants have been actively preparing for the transition to shorten the trade settlement cycle.
