Big surge of springtime warmth with record-challenging highs not far offWinds look to stay pretty friendly for the next several days, but rain and snow also stays awayHERE'S ALBUQUERQUE AS VIEWED FROM THE CREST. IT'S 40 DEGREES RIGHT NOW. SPRINGTIME SURGE OF WARMTH OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF AFTERNOONS WILL BE CHALLENGING RECORDS. SLIGHTLY BREEZY DURING THE AFTERNOONS, BUT NO STRONG WIND DAYS COMING ANYTIME SOON.

DE CRISTOS, JUST ABOUT ALL OF EAST, CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO. WE DO EXPECT SOME STRONG GUSTY WINDS TO PLAY INTO THIS NOT BEING SHOWN IN THAT GRAPHIC RIGHT THERE, BUT WHEN WE CATCH THOSE STRONG, GUSTY EAST WINDS HERE IN ALBUQUERQUE, WHAT HAPPENS IS THOSE WINDS, THEY BLOW UP THE EAST SIDE OF THE ANDES AND THE MANZANOS. AND THEN THERE ARE MUCH STEEPER SLOPES HERE ON ALBUQUERQUE'S EAST SIDE.
