Osbourn Park's girls basketball team started off Friday's Class 6 Region B final with a stirring rendition of the national anthem from sophomore guard Tierney Myers. Things only picked up from there. Using a 24-0 first-half scoring run, the host Yellow Jackets (24-3) won their fifth straight region title with a 75-27 win over Gainesville in Manassas on Friday. Osbourn Park will host a state quarterfinal Tuesday against the Region A runner-up, while Gainesville will travel to the Region A champion.
