CHICAGO (WLS) -- On Kedzie Avenue in Albany Park, there's a relatively new bookstore that aims to broaden access to the written works of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders. It's called Restoried Bookshop, and on the shelves are stories that too often have been overlooked. "For me, Restoried is really about bringing our stories and all the different variations back to our communities, so we can have a more rich understanding of who we are and have been.

CHICAGO (WLS) – A man died in Chicago after jumping into the cold waters of Lake Michigan. Chicago Fire Department fivers mounted a desperate search in the chilly waters off 31st Street Beach, where an afternoon on the lakefront turned deadly. Jose Vasquez runs a charter boat business near the beach. He said he was in the area when the apparent drowning happened. “It’s very sad. To go against that current, it takes a lot. Even the strongest swimmer will probably go down in that water,” he said.
