What’s NewOne of higher education’s largest accrediting organizations has put a hold on requiring its member colleges to demonstrate commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The WASC Senior College and University Commission, which accredits colleges mostly in California and Hawaii, announced late Tuesday that it was enacting a temporary “stay” on requirements that reference diversity efforts.

What’s NewThe Education Department announced Thursday that it is streamlining the process through which colleges can move from one accreditor to another, even for some colleges that are at risk of losing accreditation from their current accreditor. In a news release, the department also said it is moving forward with accepting and reviewing applications for recognition from new accrediting agencies.
