A Utah-based consulting firm named Epiphany is in the second year of a 4-year, $10 million contract with the state of Nebraska to identify ways to save money.

LINCOLN - Omaha Westside scrapped their way to a win over Lincoln Southeast in the Class A semifinals. The Warriors 56-52 win featured a Herculean effort from freshman Lee Robinson, who returned in the 4th quarter after suffering a tailbone injury in the first half and turned in some clutch plays, including a jumper in the lane after Southeast had trimmed the lead to four points late in the game.

LINCOLN - The Wynot Blue Devils are back in a familiar place - and facing a familiar foe. The 3-seed in Class D2 outlasted Elgin Public/Pope John 60-53 in the quarterfinals on Thursday. The Blue Devils never trailed, but never really shook the Wolfpack off until opening up a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter. EPPJ was never able to find their rhythm from deep, shooting just 4-of-20 from beyond the arc, just 2-for-11 in the second half.

LINCOLN - The top two seeds in Class C2 didn't make it past day one of the NSAA State Basketball Tournament. Hours after top-seed Freeman fell to Archbishop Bergan, seven-seed West Holt led wire-to-wire in a dominant 48-33 win over two-seed Yutan. The Chieftain offense never found a comfort zone against the Huskies. Yutan missed 14 of their first 15 shots and finished shooting 22% from the field.

LINCOLN - In the waning days of winter, some northeast Nebraska fans are celebrating the boys of summer...as in Summerland. The 4th-seeded Bobcats beat their Mascot counterparts from Exeter-Milligan/Friend 68-55 in the Class C2 semifinals on Thursday. It's the first-ever win for Summerland at the state tournament, even though the communities in the school district - Clearwater, Orchard, and Ewing - are no strangers to state success. The difference? Turnovers.

LINCOLN - The Skyhawks are back in the state championship game. Top-seed Skutt Catholic advanced to their fourth straight title game, after their commanding 58-45 win over four-seed Bennington on Friday. An 11-0 run by the Skyhawks in the first quarter erased an early Badger lead, and Bennington could never get back on track. Bennington was particularly bothered by bad shooting from 3 (4-of-18), and an inability to get to the foul line. The Badgers attempted just four foul shots to Skutt's 23.
