On June 5, United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI, Providence, RI) suffered from a cyberattack, when the company noticed “unauthorized activity” on some of its information technology (IT) systems. According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, UNFI activated its incident response plan, which involved taking certain systems offline, impacting the company’s ability to fulfill and distribute customer orders. The incident has caused temporary disruptions to business operations.
